Dianne Conduit, Lib Dem candidate for Exmouth Brixington, and Trudi Cotton, local Lib Dem campaigner, are calling on Stagecoach to stop proposed cuts to the no. 57 bus in Exmouth that will see significant impacts on those reliant on the route for access to shops, education, and healthcare. This will be particularly serious for elderly and school-age residents in Brixington, who will lose their direct connection through to services in Exeter - including the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital.

In March, bus operator Stagecoach announced changes to timetables from mid-April that will see bus routes cut throughout Exmouth - including the end of the no.57 direct service from Brixington to Exeter. These services are a lifeline to many, providing vital access to shops and healthcare for those unable to drive or to walk long distances, as well as being a crucial tool for preventing isolation and loneliness among the elderly. We the undersigned call on Stagecoach to reconsider these drastic cuts and ‘Save Our Buses’.
